If you love old things as much as I do, then a trip to Macon, Georgia should be on your summer list. We’d like to give a special shout-out to our friends at 7th Street Salvage, a new (but old) store that stocks everything from clawfoot tubs, old chippy doors, antique lighting to beautifully carved newel posts, stained glass, and mantels. The old house world has been watching as they bring back to life an architectural warehouse full of history.

We found the perfect pair of pocket doors at 7th Street Salvage last Fall, and we can’t wait to come back for more as we continue work on the inside. When we select old pieces to bring into the Glenn House, we ensure that they are period appropriate for an 1890 Victorian.

This store is full of amazing things and people who love history as much as we do. They open this Friday, June 1st! Last night, we attended their soft opening. Here’s a peek at the treasures inside.

Tomorrow we head to Statham and Greensboro to pick up over twenty-five windows with beveled (wavy) glass. This project has been an adventure!

Have a happy week.
